Broken Camera?
Repairing broken cameras instead of replacing them can save you money. First you should determine if it is worth repairing. For example, higher end, newer video cameras are almost always worth repairing. Major brand single lens reflex cameras (SLRs) should almost always be repaired as well.
Things to consider in regard to repairing your broken camera include:
Cost of the initial investment
Type of camera that is broken
Age of unit (date of purchase- we do not commonly repair units over 10 years old)
Cause for the problem
Type of damage
More benefits of repairing your broken camera rather than replacing it include:
Save money - Many cameras can be fixed economically
Repairing an older SLR helps you preserve other investment in lenses and accessories
Protect your investment - Some classic cameras are made of superior materials such as metal rather than plastic which makes them likely to retain their original value
Save time - Repairing a broken camera eliminates the need to invest time in learning to operate a new model
