Introduction to Digital Photography is a “must’ class for anyone who plans to buy a new digital camera and who wants to learn about the various features of today’s digital cameras before going to a camera store. If you already purchased or received a new digital camera and want to learn how these cameras work, then this class will definitely help you get started. The class starts with the basics: what is a pixel and why it is important to digital photography. We look at options for improving quality, resolution, instant preview, we look at ISO, White Balance, and some of the many features common to all digital cameras, such as what settings beginners should use versus settings more advanced photographers should use. We look at shutter priority, aperture priority, and manual settings and explain what the mean and show you what they do. Effective metering and focus are other important elements we examine. We’ll look at different lenses available for digital cameras and end with common problems with digital cameras and how to deal with them. This class is much more detailed than the “Introduction to Photography” class and is designed to help you discuss camera options before buying a new camera and then to start working with your new camera once you buy it.
